Chromium
Chromium helps insulin do its job. Some trials in people with type 2 diabetes found small improvements in blood sugar, but results are mixed and the FDA describes the evidence as highly uncertain. The 0.7 mcg here is far below studied amounts.
Gymnema sylvestre
Gymnema has been used in Ayurveda for centuries and can reduce the sweet taste of sugar. Small studies suggest it may help blood sugar, usually at hundreds of milligrams a day.
Panax ginseng and eleuthero
Ginseng has modest evidence for lowering blood sugar after meals in some studies. Eleuthero is an adaptogen used for stamina; its blood sugar data are limited.
African mango, coleus and raspberry ketones
These are common in weight-management products. Evidence is small or mixed, and raspberry ketones have almost no human research.
Guarana and green tea
Both supply caffeine, which can give a lift in energy but may disturb sleep in sensitive people.
Amino acids
GABA, tyrosine and tryptophan relate to calm and focus, while arginine and carnitine relate to circulation and energy metabolism. Amounts are small within the blend.
